Head of Pilot Management
Our customer CityJet is looking for a new Head of Pilot Management. The daily tasks involve management of the Base Captain(s) and department line pilots as well as managing pilot absence in all bases and networks and the pilot crew's disciplinary process. In addition, you will be working closely with the Head of Planning & Crew Management and the Flight Ops Senior Leadership Team to identify, develop and implement initiatives to improve Cost Control in Flight Operations. The role as Head of Pilot Management in the Flight Operations' department is thus an ever-changing and dynamic role, which will undoubtedly provide great job satisfaction.
CityJet is a regional airline with more than 500 employees, operating a fleet of CRJ900 regional jets on wet lease services throughout Europe, and was established by entrepreneur Pat Byrne in 1993. CityJet focuses its activities on becoming a provider of "wet lease" services to major airlines, providing service on flight-, crew- maintenance- and insurance basis (ACMI).


  • Assigned elements of the Flight Operations Department budget, its governance, management, and coordination with the Finance Department.
  • Manage relationships and negotiations with pilot staff representative groups and build strong relationships with local business unit managers and staff.
  • Coordination with the Head of Planning and Crew Management to ensure adequate staffing levels and appropriate deployment of pilots to meet the demands o the operation.
  • Stay updated with the developments in regulatory authorities, ie. IAA, EASA, etc.
  • Ensure that the CityJet objectives are communicated down to all pilots through pilot Line Management.
  • Work with NP Flight Ops, on delivering successful audit outcomes and where nonconformities are identified, implement a corrective action plan.
  • The negotiation of Crew collective labour and bargaining agreements in the jurisdictions of operations.


  • Experience as a Pilot Manager or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in developing people in an international environment with diverse cultures.
  • Management experience including handling employee relationships.
  • Fluent in written / oral English.
  • Fluency in a Scandinavian language is preferred but is not required.
  • Experienced user in Microsoft Office as well as flight operating systems.
